@Greeting(Dear Mr. Porto:)
This is late, and I don't know whether you will be able to accept, but I can
invite you for the Winter Quarter (January-March). We can pay approximately
$1,300 in transportation costs plus $1,750 each month.

Besides participating in the discussion of the formal reasoning research
group, we would ask you to give a seminar course on PROLOG, meeting three
hours per week.

If it is not too late this year, then we will almost certainly be able to
repeat the offer for one quarter of the following year.

To enable us to pay you, it is essential that you secure a J-1 visa. It is
usual for us to send you a DSP-66 form (Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status)
in such cases, which will assist you in getting the proper visa. For this purpose
we need the following information as quickly as you can send it:

@begin(display)
1.  Complete name
2.  Birthdate and birthplace
3.  Country of citizenship
4. Occupation in country of citizenship
@end(display)

I will mail the DSP-66 form to you as soon as I get this information from you.
@end(body)

Sincerely,

John McCarthy
Professor of Computer Science
